Antique Lava Stone Cameo Stud Earrings

A one-of-a-kind mismatched pair of stud earrings featuring antique hand-carved lava stone cameos set in sterling silver. Each stud depicts a different cherub scene.

Victorian lava cameos originated in southern Italy, where tourists on the Grand Tour would bring them home as souvenirs of their travels.

This particular pair were loose finds I reclaimed and reimagined to make them wearable in a contemporary context.
