Her work has always moved freely between art and design. Loeffler came to design through fashion — five years of womenswear in New York City, built on raw material and the eye of an artist.

Interiors followed, then jewelry, each made with the same instinct: a refusal to separate the functional from the beautiful, and a preference for things that carry some evidence of how they came to be.
